The staff and management of Artspart will receive training in effective methods for working with youth from special populations. This training will include at risk-and protective perspective, behavior management, adolescent psychology, familiarization with the educational or juvenile justice system, and diversity training, which includes cultural characteristics associated with youth from culturally different backgrounds. Artist training will focus on child development, conflict resolution, problem solving, and classroom management. Staff members will receive cross training on working with at-risk-youth, curriculum development, and school rules and regulations. Background checks will be performed on all staff members. Staff members will receive the proper documentation to acquire fingerprints and drug testing through local agencies. All staff member or at least two staff members must hold, or obtain within two weeks of employment, current First Aid, and CPR certificates. |
